Annalise – Founder of the Sonnen Resort

As founder of the former Hotel Sonnenhof in Naturns, South Tyrol (now the Sonnen Resort) Annalise takes care of the management and administration of the hotel. The Sonnen Resort has been her life for over 40 years. The many lovely guests (of whom a few have become good friends) make her work so enjoyable every day.

For years they have been running this family business with their mother. Their passion for the hotel sector is innate and their welcoming manner brings happiness and liveliness in the Sonnen Resort.

Daniel is the man of the house. Since March 2018 the youngest of the three siblings has been providing support to the two ladies in the family business. After completing his studies he gathered several years of experience working in private enterprise and is delighted to be part of a family team.

The history of the Hotel Sonnenhof & Sonnen Resort

1972

Sonnenhof Guesthouse in Naturns opened

1976

The guesthouse becomes Hotel Sonnenhof Naturns. Extension and expansion of the indoor and outdoor pools, as well as the sauna. Major renovation work meant the Sonnenhof became a 3-star hotel.

1989

The Sonnenhof was once again extensively renovated to provide even more comfort and became the first 4-star hotel in Naturns.

1994

After so many improvements in comfort in the past few years and further extensions, the decision was made to manage the 4-star Hotel Sonnenhof Naturns purely as a hotel for guests, without having an À-la-carte restaurant for external guests.

1998

The beauty area was significantly extended.

2001

Another milestone came with the extension of the wellness and beauty area. 15 new rooms were also developed – the 4-star Superior Hotel Sonnenhof enjoyed a wonderful new look.

2013/2014

The Sonnenhof, together with Hotel Prokulus, constructed the Aquagarden – a unique water realm.

2017

The Sonnenhof became Sonnen Resort Naturns: Sonnenhof Naturns became Sonnen Resort, continuous developments enabled the Hotel Sonnenhof in South Tyrol to become a real holiday resort – with an 8500 m² spa & relaxation area, an extensive selection of gourmet and pleasure-oriented offers, family highlights and leisure programme, along with stylish rooms and suites. It is time for change – for a place for a family holiday, a romantic break for couples and for being active, or just relaxing.

2018

With the new Kids Playground and combined play facilities for various age groups, and a cinema (Sonnen Cinema), two more highlights for families were developed. A section of the family suites were refurbished and fitted out with exclusive designer furnishings.

2019

The range of activities available and offers for teenagers was considerably expanded. With the construction of a specific outdoor pool for teens, a professional bouldering area and the Callisthenics Park, a perfect holiday for teenagers in South Tyrol was guaranteed.

2020

Sonnen Resort gets a new look, including a new façade and new rooms & suites. A chance to really relax and unwind in the new Infinity rooftop pool on the roof of the main building – with views to the mountains. The redesign of the bar and recreation area, as well as the Mediterranean terrace creates an even greater ambience of well-being in the Sonne Resort.
